Klenteng Sam Po Kong is a shrine located at the southwest of Semarang, at the Simongan Area. This pagoda marks the place where an Islamic Chinese Admiral, Sheng He/Cheng Ho, once made a landing in Semarang. The story went that although the Admiral continued his journey onwards, many of his men actually stayed behind in Semarang, and the Admiral himself tought many locals on the ways of agriculture and Islamic religion.

Masjid Agung Jawa Tengah or the Central Java Grand Mosque is one of the biggest mosques ever built in Semarang. Built on 2001 and finished on 2006, this 10 hectares wide mosque was officially opened by the 6th President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, on 14 November 2016. As one of the most iconic and important landmarks of the city, any visitor to Semarang wishing to explore everything that is about the city must make this mosque a must visit in their itinerary.
